What is the Surgery-to-Strength: Hip & Knee Replacement Recovery Workshop?

This is a free, physiotherapy-led workshop designed to help you understand what good recovery after hip or knee replacement really looks like.

We’ll walk you through the recovery journey, explain what’s normal (and what’s not), and help you feel clear, confident, and supported in your next steps, whether you’re preparing for surgery or already on the other side of it.

There’s no pressure and no obligation, just honest guidance from experienced physios who work with joint replacements every day.

Who is this for?

This workshop is suitable if you:

  • Are booked in for a hip or knee replacement

  • Have had surgery in the last 12 months

  • Have been told you may need surgery, and want to understand your options

  • Feel unsure if your recovery is “on track”

  • Want to return to walking, stairs, travel, golf, gym, or everyday life with confidence

You don’t need to be fit, flexible, or pain-free, just open to learning how to recover well.

What to expect...

You can expect a calm, supportive session where we cover:

  • What recovery should look like at different stages

  • Common worries around pain, swelling, walking aids, and movement

  • Why some people recover smoothly while others feel stuck

  • When and why strength becomes important for long-term joint health

  • Clear answers to the questions people are often afraid to ask

There will be time for questions in a relaxed, non-intimidating environment.
