What is postnatal Pilates?

Postnatal Pilates is a gentle, guided form of exercise that focuses on rebuilding strength, control, and confidence after having a baby.

At NK Physio, our postnatal Pilates is physiotherapy-led, meaning sessions are informed by how the body recovers and adapts after pregnancy and birth, not by fitness trends or timelines.

The aim isn’t to rush recovery.


It’s to support it.

Who is this for?

This programme is ideal if you’re:

  • Up to 12 months post-partum

  • Unsure where to start with exercise after birth

  • Wanting to rebuild strength gently and safely

  • Feeling like your posture, core strength or confidence has changed

  • Looking for a supportive group environment with expert guidance

No Pilates experience needed.

You don’t need to be “fit”, flexible, or pain-free to start.

There’s also no expectation to begin at a certain time post-birth; we work with what’s appropriate for you.

What to expect...

Our Postnatal Pilates programme is physiotherapy-led and focuses on:

  • Breathing and deep core connection

  • Pelvic-floor-friendly strength work

  • Gentle mobility and posture support

  • Gradual progression (no pressure, no rushing)

  • Helping you feel confident in your body again

Sessions are calm, supportive, and adapted week by week depending on how you’re feeling and responding.

There’s no pressure to rush; the programme is there to make recovery feel steadier and more supported.

How our approach is different...

We understand that post-natal recovery isn’t linear, and that everyone’s experience is different. Sessions are adjusted accordingly, with space to progress safely and at your own pace.

There’s no pressure to “bounce back” or keep up.
